Take A Trip Tuesday 6/18/13

For our "Take A Trip Tuesday" we went to Publix (for mommy to do some grocery shopping ;)) and Mia got a Dora the Explorer balloon that says, "Happy Birthday", even though it is not her birthday till 3 months haha...........We made a trip to Sonic after that so Mia could get her favorite Peach Tea. Then we went to Bruster's Ice Cream since today is 2 pints for $6.99(daddy always makes us get some on Tuesday LOL). Then we came home and played and cooked dinner and ate our Ice cream............

DIY 4th of July Tee

These adorable little tees are so easy and fun to make.....you only need a few things to make this......we were able to purchase everything from Hobby Lobby.

What you'll need:
1 blank white t-shirt
Blue fabric paint
Red fabric paint
A foam paint brush
Letter Applique(we chose first initial)
and an Iron

First you start by painting the palm of the hand with the blue fabric paint(making sure it's good and wet when you place it on the shirt so that the hand print shows up real good)and pressing firmly on the shirt. When you pull the hand off you will need to carefully pull the shirt off too.
Also, make sure you put a book or something hard inside the shirt so that the paint won't bleed through to the back of the shirt............
Next, paint the stripes on with the red fabric paint leaving enough white in between to look like the American Flag.

Let dry completely...........

Once dried place the letter on the bottom left corner of the shirt. Apply as per instructions on the back of letter(you can find these at Hobby Lobby.
We had to press the Iron over the letter for 20-25 seconds and then once it cooled completely, turn the shirt inside out and press the Iron down on the back part for another 20-25 seconds. It might be different depending on what type of letter you get.

And this is the finished project! We love it and I even got one to make for myself so we can match on the 4th of July!

Hope you enjoy making it as much as we did. Have a happy 4th of July and remember why we celebrate this day............the flag represents so much more than just a cute symbol you can make a cute t-shirt out of.....

Now we're back to Make Something Monday again(which, personally, is my favorite day of all) and with 4th of July right around the corner, we decided to make some patriotic shirts we could wear............we got in the van and headed to Hobby Lobby and purchased our materials and came home and had a BLAST making these..............

This is how it turned out....There will be a tutorial to follow this post on how to make these.

Thinking Thursday 6/13/13

So for our "Thinking Thursday" we decided to play with shapes.......................

We learned the difference between Square and Circle......and we'll see if it sticks LOL...........her favorite was Circle....(I think she just likes the way it sounds). We did this for about a half hour actually and had a good time. We'll get down Triangle and the rest of the next time LOL

Wet 'N' Wild Wednesday 6/12/13

I'm a little behind with my posts, but I wanted to share them with you so here goes.........
We had Wet 'N' Wild Wednesday this past Wed. and I decided to fill up Mia's little pool and water table outside and let her go swimming. Then I put my suit on and decided to enjoy the summer air and watch my little girl play(I got wet too ;) ).

It has been really hot here in the great state of Alabama! We've been in the 90's and it's been brutal, so a day playing in water is just what we needed to get through till the temperatures lowered that evening.
I love spending time with my little red head and I love the water so this was our favorite day so far in our summer schedule..........stay tuned for Thinking Thursday!

Take A Trip Tuesday 06/11/13

So, yesterday was "Take A Trip Tuesday" and we went to the House Of Java. We were accompanied by my mom, younger sister and younger brother. While the adults enjoyed chatting and coffee, the little's enjoyed playing in the BIG play area.
She played and played and made some friends too.......
She also ran Aunt Toto ragged LOL..........Poor Tori, always a good sport............they LOVE each other.

I enjoyed chatting with Gabe and mom...oh and my mother in law who called in the middle telling me about her Take A Trip Tuesday and let me tell you.....that's a good story for another time LOL...
All in all it was a good day and I really should get Mia out more because she just LOVES it! Don't know where we'll be going next Tuesday but I hope to take a trip to the zoo soon.

Make Something Monday 06/10/13

So Monday was "Make something Monday" and we chose to do some Christmas crafts.......in this house Christmas and Halloween are always being prepared for LOL.

So we decided on a Christmas Ornament for GG Nana's "Grandchildren Christmas Tree" and a Christmas puzzle to frame in Mia's room for decor when December comes!

So we decided to start with the Ornament first. Mia was really excited because she loves to paint and as you can see in this picture......she loves to paint herself..
....LOL. We decided to use Blue and Yellow. I don't know what design we were going for really she just went to town, so I figured it was her first piece of art and it would be accepted no matter what! Ha
Here she is deciding on whether to add or keep it the way it is...............
And apparently that requires sniffing it too......LOL
This is her finished product.....GG Nana, we will be sending this to you so you can put it away for the tree this year!
And then there's the puzzle we did. We glued it and are going to frame it and put it away until Christmas. She has puzzle's of all the characters and we are going to use them in her room for decor at Christmas. This is the first one we've put together though.

Well it was a successful first "Make Something Monday" and we can't wait till next Monday. Next I will be posting out "Take A Trip Tuesday" so STAY TUNED...................

Christmas 2012

We had an awesome Christmas here at the Flynn home. First on Christmas Eve we got to go down to South Alabama and visit my Nanna and Papa Chuck and the rest of my dad's side of the family. Then we woke up on Christmas morning and opened our gifts and had Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast. We later went to my parents house and had lunch, a devotional, and opened gifts and after we came home and had Christmas dinner and a tornado warning......Christmas the Alabama way...........we spent 15 minutes in the bathroom.....:/

Everyone is safe and no damage was done(Thank God).......The next day we had an after Christmas celebration at my other grandparents house and my moms side because my cousin, Jase, came down from North Carolina where he lives to visit us. We had a blast and I love family time so much!
